Koi Pond Filtration
Masuko Landscaping koi ponds require minimal maintenance.
A sound filtration system is essential in keeping good water quality in ponds and streams. Traditional filters use foam pads to remove debris from the water. These pads have to be constantly removed and cleaned, which is both time-consuming and messy. Additionally, without proper filtration, water can turn green due to algae bloom.
Masuko Landscaping uses the most advanced and effective forms of filtering in its designs and creations. We use bubble-bead media composed of tiny buoyant polycarbonate beads, which easily trap debris while retaining beneficial biological enzymes. Masuko Landscaping uses ultraviolet light to process the algae, keeping the water clean and clear.
Maintenance is easy. You simply turn a value to backflush so that water transports the debris out of the filter. The bubble-bead filtration system relies on periodic backflushing which is accomplished by simply turning a valve. A bottom drain catches debris below the water's surface while a skimmer cleans debris from the water's surface. Double protection is provided by a priming basket which catches any debris that the skimmer misses. The priming basket is cleaned by removing the lid and emptying the basket periodically.
